I did original wonder why Bristol Zoo were stipulating that..”the fruit or veg must be of edible quality and not beyond the best before or use by dates” until I realised that the fruit & veg would be used to feed the animals!

The Eden Project are offering free ice skating sessions to those willing to carry a lantern on the evening of your visit!  If that sounds a good trade off to you, then it’s worth contacting the Eden Project  at sitewidelive@edenproject.com to express your interest.

Eden Project Ice Skating

You will be asked to to carry a giant handmade lantern for a 15 minute procession through the gardens.  Lantern carriers must be over 16 & free of any back injuries.  Processions run on 18, 25 & 26 November & 2, 3, 9, 10, 16. 17, 27, 28, 29, 30 December.  In return the Eden project will give you & your firends or family a free skate on the ice rink!

Order a past copy of Gardeners’ World Magazine, (May 2011) that includes a fantastic 2 for 1 discount card for 260 gardens around the UK  that includes the Eden Project.

Simply show your 2 for 1 discount card at the Eden Project to gain one free entry when accompanied by a full paying adult.  Whilst the discount card is valid until 30 April 2012, it excludes event days is not valid Monday to Thursday in August.  This card gains you entry to the whole property not just the gardens!
