Review; The Splash Zone at Gulliver’s Theme Parks

Kids love it! The great advantage with the Splash Zone is there is no standing water so children can get as wet as they wish within a safe environment! With slides galore, interactive features and intermittent bursts of water for more daring children, it’s a perfect spot to cool down and have some fun!

Beware on hotter days, you may prefer to join the children in the splash zone as the heat can be overpowering in the dry adult supervision areas. For a cooler experience, you can settle by the entrance but take account that your vision of the children is limited in this area.

The changing facilities are limited so you may prefer to simply change & go at the Splash Zone. Nevertheless, whatever adult discomforts there maybe, this is a winner for children up to around the age of 10 years.

Thorpe Park 2012

Thorpe Park; What’s New for 2012

There’s a new coaster coming to Thorpe Park for 2012; The Swarm. This new thrill ride is located on an island north of Stealth and will be accessed by a bridge connecting the two areas.

This ride is being billed as the first winged rollercoaster & sends you head first into an inverted drop from 127ft and includes 4 inversions. Set to cost £18 million to build, this will be the second tallest ride at Thorpe Park after Stealth. The first test run has recently been completed at Thorpe Park.

It’s controversial plans to create an apocolyptic invasion has provoked an outcry in some quarters so it’s going to be interesting to see how the theming develops. Set to be in place for the beginning of the Thorpe Park season, this tallest winged rollercoaster in Europe is certainly going to draw the crowds for 2012.

Legoland in August now included in a Standard Merlin Pass

What’s interesting for 2012 is that entry to Legoland in August is now included within the standard Merlin Pass, (previously Legoland entry was excluded until 2pm for standard pass holders).

Half Price Premium Legoland Annual Passes

You can also pick up a Premium Legoland Annual Pass at half price too if you prefer. This pass includes unlimited entry during the Legoland season and free parking and is available for £49.50 an adult & £37.50 a child, (3-15 years old).

The Premium Legoland Annual Pass can be purchased online or at the Legoland resort whilst the half price Merlin Pass can only be purchased in person at selected Merlin attractions, including Legoland Windsor.

Free Legoland Annual Pass with Christmas Shopping

Free Legoland Premium Annual Pass with Christmas Shopping

Legoland, Windsor are re-running their Christmas shopping offer when you spend over £120 within their Lego stores in November & December.

Legoland Windsor Deals

The stores are open on 11/12/13, 18/19/20, 25/26/27 November or 2/3/4 December and purchases in excess of £120 will receive a Legoland Premium Annual Pass free of charge.

To redeem your Legoland Premium Annual Pass, you must show your original tilll receipt & voucher either on the day of your purchase or at the park between 16 March & 14 April 2012. The card holder must be present when the Legoland Annual Pass is redeemed.

For avid lego fans, this can be quite a deal but previous reports of this Christmas deal have indicated that stock can be pretty low so worth checking out what they have before you set out.

You can upgrade this Legoland Pass to a Merlin Pass, (it is unclear whether this is a standard or premium Merlin Pass) with additional cash spend although in past years this hasn’t offered the best value for money.

The Tesco 2 for 1 voucher that ran with the clubcard voucher scheme is valid until 21 October 2011.

Fright Nights are running from 6-9 October, 14-16 October & 21-31 October 2011. Fright Nights are strictly advance book only on 28-31 October although I’m sure they’ll let you if they are not full!

Thorpe Park extend their opening hours for Fright Nights to 10pm and this year are offering 5 live actor scare mazes including the new maze, Experiment 10 for 2011. There are no additional charges for these horror mazes once you have paid entry to the park although fastrack tickets are normally available at an additional cost.
