Is it me or are there some strange requests coming in from theme parks at the moment? Check these out:
- Thorpe Park are bizarrely seeking the most pungent smelling urine for their newest attraction. Potential ‘donors’ are invited to attend Thorpe Park this Friday between 11 & 2pm.
- Alton Towers have invited ultimate thrill seekers to apply for the chance to be one of the first to ride Thirteen – also know in my reckoning as ‘ride testers’!
- Legoland Discovery Centre are seeking junior construction workers, (ie kids!), to advise on the suitability of their lego models.
Things get stranger and stranger!

Have you seen the recent Tesco advert about it’s clubcard offers? It’s true that spend £150 in Tesco and you can opt for a free Cineworld ticket.
The Tesco clubcard deal works on the principal that for every £1 spend, you receive 2 clubcard points and for every 100 points earned you receive a £1 voucher. This £1 can be redeemed up to 4 times it’s value in days out rewards.
This said, it doesn’t cost you £12 for a cinema ticket! For value for money, it would be better spent on rewards such as a Merlin Annual Pass where your vouchers will give you the full 4 times it’s value.
Any thoughts on this one?

Just spotted a days out discount for Alton Towers valid until 31 October 2010.
If you are a signed up member of tesco clubcard deals, then keep an eye out when your next lot of vouchers pop through the door. Included within this paperwork is some additional ‘birthday’, (Tesco’s not yours!), coupons including a 2 for 1 for a Merlin Attraction this season.
Choose from Alton Towers, Chessington, Thorpe Park, Legoland, Warwick Castle, Sea Life centres & more.
Always worth holding on to.

Not sure whether to invest in a Merlin Pass this season? It would be wise to consider your families future plans as well as price.
Merlin have come up with just the thing; a Merlin Calculator. This online tool allows you to consider which attractions you plan to visit this year and calculates whether a Merlin Pass would indeed save you money!
You can try it here.
