When to go
Best to go in fine weather as the indoor area becomes rather crowded in wetter weather. Not surprisingly, it does get busy in school holidays especially the adventure park so it’s worth getting there early and heading straight for the park.
Don’t feel the need to queue for the miniature railway to take you to the adventure park as it’s only a short walk from the car park.
Have a break
Picnic & lockers: you are welcome to take a picnic and there is plenty of space to find a good spot outside. Although lockers are not available, it’s not too far to the car park. In cooler weather, people tend to congregate under the lighted tree area near the entrance with tables & chairs close by.
Places to eat: there are two restaurants at Conkers, the most popular is the Olive Tree, located close to the main entrance. This does tend to get quite busy at peak times. The Olive Tree offers a kids pick and mix deal which does include a wide range of fresh fruit.
Try out the new barefoot walk with 250 metres of oozing mud, coal, timber & clay to invigorate the mind & body whilst having lots of fun!
Brought the kids but not interested yourself?
Conkers is set in 120 acres of woodland, lakes & gardens so if you enjoy the outdoors, there’s something for everyone at this attraction.
There is a small outdoor water play area located close to the Olive Tree restaurant which is lovely for little ones in term time when they can get a look in!
Look out for the indoor play area close to the main foyer that young children will especially enjoy.
Free parking on site.
Try of the Stay, Play & Explore Ticket, (see above), for a good deal on accommodation.
Alternatively, why not try out the newly opened Youth Hostel located within the New Forest that offers family en-suite rooms. More details can be found at YHA accommodation on a budget
Keep an eye out for the activities running especially during holiday times as these tend to be of good entertainment value for the children.
