Tesco & Cineworld offer; is it worth it?

Have you seen the recent Tesco advert about it’s clubcard offers? It’s true that spend £150 in Tesco and you can opt for a free Cineworld ticket.

The Tesco clubcard deal works on the principal that for every £1 spend, you receive 2 clubcard points and for every 100 points earned you receive a £1 voucher.  This £1 can be redeemed up to 4 times it’s value in days out rewards.

This said, it doesn’t cost you £12 for a cinema ticket!  For value for money, it would be better spent on rewards such as a Merlin Annual Pass where your vouchers will  give you the full 4 times it’s value.

Cinema on a budget over half term

The weather might be cold, but there’s always the movies!  Here’s a few current deals;

  • Vue cinemas run a half term offer – 95p tickets for morning showings of ‘Planet 51′ up to 21 February.
  • Saturday mornings at Cineworld, tickets only £1 for selected showings of Planet 51, Up & Fantastic Mr Fox.  More details can be found here.
  • Use your Tesco clubcard vouchers to purchase Cineworld tickets , (Adult ticket cost £3 in vouchers, child tickets £2 in vouchers).

Half Term on a Budget, (£1 or less!)

Thinking about half term but don’t want to spend a fortune, then try some of these ideas;

  • Hollywood Bowl are offering 1p a bowl this half term.  A game for 1p per person if you book a lane any day between 9am & 9.30am.  Further details here.
  • Vue cinemas are offering morning shows of Planet 51 for 95p a ticket.
  • Remember many local authorities now offer free swimming for under 16’s.  Why not check out your local pool.

  • The Staffordshire Hoard is coming to the Potteries Museum, Stoke on Trent, this half term and there is no entrance charges for this one!
  • Vue cinemas are running ‘Planet 51′ each morning of half term with tickets only 95p.
  • Many local authorities now offer free swimming for children under 16, (and those over 60).  Check out your local swimming pool to see whether your council is part of this scheme.

Odeon cinemas are offering a  nationwide film screening of up to date releases specifically for you and your newborn!

Available weekday mornings, you can take your baby along with you and enjoy a blockbuster movie safe in the knowledge that a little background baby noise is not a problem.  They’ve even lowered the film noise and raised the lighting for a more calming environment.
