Thrill Hopper Ticket; Drayton Manor

The sun was out and Topdogdays took their Thrill Hopper tickets to Drayton Manor today to check them out…it’s a hard life but someone has to do it! If you’ve never heard of a Thrill Hopper ticket, this is a great way to experience the thrill of Staffordshire’s visitor attractions for a substantially lower price!  Included within the ticket is entrance to all of the following:

  • Alton Towers
  • Waterworld
  • Drayton Manor Theme Park
  • Tamworth Snowdome, (limited to specific activities)


You can use the Thrill Hopper ticket throughout the season with a single ticket priced at  £44.95 or a family ticket for £129.95.

So off to Drayton Manor Theme Park to we went. The Thrill Hopper tickets offers one visit to each attraction so our ticket was simply stamped to show we had used our Drayton Manor visit and were issued with Drayton Manor tickets for the turnstile.

Once in, we were away for a day of thrilling rides & experiences that kept us entertained the whole day through.. and for a sunny day, it wasn’t even too busy!

Alton Towers hires lifedog for Waterpark

Alton Towers has hired an unusual recruit for it’s waterpark this summer to ensure swimmers remain safe – a lifedog!

To assist trained lifeguards, Max, a newfoundland dog, has been employed and is proving popular at Alton Towers Waterpark.  The Sunday Mercury reports that “Newfoundland dogs are renowned for their lifesaving abilities ” and I’m sure Max will quickly prove his worth at Alton Towers.

Regional cards offer substantial savings

If you are planning to visit an area for a few days, regional cards can offer substantial savings on top attractions. Here are a few we’ve found:

Your Ticket for Liverpool: this ticket, once purchased, entitles you to free entrance to the Beatles Museum, LFC Museum, Liverpool Cathedral, free bus travel & tour bus travel.  A three day adult ticket costs £29.99, (children ticket £19.99).

Stay, play & explore ticket: grants you entry to three of the following five Leicestershire attractions: Twycross Zoo, National Space Centre, Conkers, Bosworth & Snibston. Tickets priced at £24 (adult), £12 (child) or £60 (family ticket ) and are valid until Dec 2010 so you can space out your trips.

  • Book online with Alton Towers for a 2 day pass for only £37.60 an adult, (1 day pass works out at £30.40).
  • Lastminute.com are offering a 3 day pass at Alton Towers for £44.80 an adult.
  • Alternatively, try a Thrill Hopper that gains you entry to Alton Towers, Drayton Manor, WaterWorld & SnowDome for £44.95 an adult.
