The Alton Towers Waterpark is incredibly busy this summer and Alton Towers have now introduced two distinct time slots to manage the number of people at the waterpark for each session.  You can now choose between 10am-3pm or 4pm-9pm but whatever you do, pre-book to avoid disappointment!

Alton Towers Waterpark stands alone from Alton Towers, the Theme Park as a day out with the kids. Here’s some essential information about the Waterpark:

Is the Alton Towers Waterpark just for hotel guests?

Whilst the Waterpark is located within the Alton Towers Resort, it is open to non-residents.

What discounts are available?

Annual passholders are entitled to a 20% discount on day ticket prices when tickets are puchased in advance, (valid with both a  Merlin or Alton Towers Annual Pass.) To book, contact Alton Towers on 0871 222 9903.

If your party can make up the stipulated numbers of adults & children, take advantage of the discounted family ticket packages on offer.

Check out the discounted Toddler sessions that run throughout the year for only £5 for you and a child under 6 years.

How busy does the Alton Towers Waterpark get?

Beware, it can get very busy in peak times and it is always best to book in advance to ensure entry on the day.

Are there any adult/child ratios that I need to  be aware of at the Waterpark?

Yes, there are strict adult to child ratios at the Alton Towers Waterpark;

  • 1 person over the age of 16: 1 child (4 years and under)
  • 1 person over the age of 16: 2 children (ages 5-9)
  • Under 10’s to be accompanied by a responsible adult


What’s this about a Lifedog at the Waterpark?

Oh yes… Alton Towers have hired a Lifedog, Max, to assist trained lifeguards at the Waterpark.  Max is a newfoundland dog and apparently this breed of dog is renowned for it’s lifesaving skills?

For cheap tickets for Alton Towers Waterpark, try this deal on discounted tickets for parents and children under 7. Although called the ‘toddler session’, this offer is open to parents/carers and children up to and including the age of 6.

Priced at just £5 for the session, (rathter than per person), these offer value for money and allows you the run of the park.  These currently run:

  • 11am-1.30pm, Monday – Friday, (term time)
  • 11am-1.30pm Wednesday & Friday, (school holidays)

Ideal for that teacher training day when the Waterpark is generally quieter.

Discounted tickets for Alton Towers Water Park

Looking for  discounted tickets for Alton Towers Water Park , then netmums have a deal on for up to 50% off normal Water Park prices.  This mid-week only deal offers discounted adult tickets for only £10, (standard price £14) & child tickets for only £5, (standard price £10).
