It’s been reported that among other offers being made to Alton Towers, a premiership footballer has offered £20,000 to be the first to experience the new ride, Thirteen, opening in March 2010.

A spokeswoman for Alton Towers has said the theme park is considering auctioning off the front row of the rollercoaster to raise money for their in-house charity, Merlin’s Magic Wand.
